'I'm grateful it happened later!' Bryan Cranston says he is happy to have found fame in his fifties

Bryan Cranston has 151 TV and film credits stretching back to 1968 when he landed a small role in One Life To Live when he was just 12.

Bryan became a megastar when he starred as Walter White in Breaking Bad, which ran on AMC from 2008 to 2013.

Now the actor, who is presently at Itay's Giffoni Film Festival for children, has revealed that he is 'grateful' his meteoric rise didn't happen early in his career.

'I’m grateful it happened later, because I was able to develop a sound foundation of my life without any level of fame given to a boy,' the 61-year-old told The Guardian in an interview posted online on Thursday.

'One of the traps in being a celebrity is, there’s a certain curfew that I have in my mind.

If I’m out in public, every time I feel it, I look at my watch to see what time it is, and almost invariably, it’s around 10.30pm.

'I’m starting to feel a waning of the evening. The energy has changed. I attribute it to alcohol. My wife and I squeeze each other’s legs, and it’s time to leave.

The star is presently getting back in touch with his youth at the Giffoni Festival in Giffoni Valle Piana.

Bryan was honored with the event's Giffoni Experience Award on Thursday, which was also given to Game Of Thrones star Kit Hartington the day before.
