Is anyone having trouble accessing this week's episode of DVD Afternoon? According to my Libsyn account, no one has downloaded the new episode yet, and I'm pretty sure someone must have done so by now, right? If you're having any technical difficulties, please drop me a line in the comments section below, and I'll try to fix it. Then again, maybe everyone was scared off by the blistering satire of Chris Morris' new film Four Lions, which is one of the two films Heather Noel and I tackle in the main portion of this week's broadcast, as well as Charles Ferguson's Oscar-winning Wall Street documentary Inside Job. Some good discussion happened with both films—we sharply disagreed with our opinions of one film, and found the other one highly overrated, which are pretty much the two most entertaining reactions for a pair of movie reviewers to have, don't you think?
But that's not all! Heather and I also dissect the Oscar ceremony (belatedly, we realize, but whatcha gonna do) at the top of the show, Heather reviews the post-apocalyptic, feminist-baiting sci-fi satire A Boy and His Dog, I talk about Alejandro Amenabar's Thesis and Neil Jordan's In Dreams, and we both reveal our lists of the week's most noteworthy new DVD releases.
