Enjoying the good life!

Sunny days and walks along the beach.

This Friday as I Join Amy for Five on Friday I will share five things that are keeping me extremely busy or happy!
Well done to Amy for celebrating a whole year of Five on Friday. She has really helped to create a great community of bloggers.

Cushions:

The cable cushion that was being created last week now graces my sons sofa along with two more patchwork cushions. I have loved putting together the patchwork with ready cut packs of material. So easy and fun. If I'm not careful there will be patchwork cushions everywhere!

Flowers:

Tete a tete daffodils.

Crocus

Cymbidium Orchid

So lovely at the moment to go outside and potter in the garden. I really do appreciate having the time to admire and enjoy all the new spring flowers as they arrive. Indoors in my conservatory my large orchid has finally come into flower. They will now last 2 or 3 months before they finish. Then I throw the whole plant outside under a bush for the summer and bring it back inside once new buds appear in the autumn.

Sheep:

For so many years Jersey was bereft of sheep. In the last ten or so years farmers have been bringing sheep over to the island to raise. We now have a few herds scattered here and there. This field is only a mile from home and it was brilliant to see the new lambs on our walk the other day.

Cooking:

We entertained friends the other night. Having had a culinary disaster with the Bundt cake from Nigellas new book I decided to be brave and try another recipe. We went for the Spiced lamb stew with goats cheese and thyme cobbler topping. It was delicious and would highly recommend it. I would include the recipe but sadly would be in breach of copy write, so I won't go there..hopefully it will appear on her website soon. If you have the book turn to page 197. Yum!

New Projects:

New wool has just arrived for not one, but two cardigans for my son's partner. The wool looks gorgeous and I can't wait to start. Just have to complete one last mitten and I will cast on. Think I will start with the Galaxy wool first and knit this cardigan.

I wonder what you have all been up to this week. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for all your lovely comments, I do appreciate them all. Have a good weekend in your part of the world.

Barbara xx
